  1. Did anyone else follow this recipe and end up with a pot of disgusting slop that tastes like pork water with a lot of chalky rice powder? This was so god awful I had to dump it all in the dumpster. I just wanted to eat some delicious pork rib congee like I used to in Vietnam and I thought it would be fairly easy to make but this definitely is not how it’s done.

  4. That is pretty cool. Rice porridge with ribs and onions. Will have to try it. What exactly are those floss things that were crushed?? Where can I find them?

  5. Very interesting way of making chao. Since I grew up eating only the whole grain of rice version, I would have to get used to eating the smoother version. It helps to have all the toppings, though. 🙂

  6. The way you make cháo is different to how my mum makes it, she uses leftover rice and boils it in a pot of water until it's thick 🙂

  7. I love the way you show the street food then use it as context for your own version recipe. Food and travel, what a life!

Thank you.
